How to Keep Your Teeth Healthy & Strong?

Teeth are an important part of our body. Many a times it happens that we take care of our skin, our clothes, and other aspects of our physical appearance, but we forget about the health of our teeth. There is no doubt in the fact that if your teeth are not healthy, clean and shiny; then your face would look dull and unattractive. There are several diseases associated with teeth of which “Peoria” is most well known and common. In Peoria, the puss gets collected in the gums around the teeth, and whenever we eat or drink something; this puss gets transferred through the food to our stomach, hence causing several other diseases.

Although, the proper and timely brushing of teeth is very important, but intake of health diet and calcium rich food is also very important for ensuring that the teeth are healthy and strong. The intake of following types of diet can play an important role in the dental care;

  1. Fiber rich raw foods like apple, carrot, radish, beetroot, watermelon, cucumber, orange and pear.
  2. Foods rich in protein.
  3. Calcium, magnesium and phosphate rich foods like cashews, peanuts, almonds and walnuts.
  4. Milk, cheese, yogurt are considered best for healthy and strong teeth and are a great source of calcium.
  5. Sprouts of foods like alfalfa, radish, broccoli and soybean are good for dental care. These can protect our teeth against infections and other such diseases because they possess the antioxidant properties.

Following foods should be avoided, and the teeth should be brushed properly if you eat any of the below mentioned foods so as to void the damage;

- The foods after which you cannot brush off your teeth immediately should be avoided. These include sweets, snacks and other sultry carbohydrate diet.
- Avoid caffeine rich drinks like excessive intake of tea, coffee, Pepsi and other colas.
- The foods that are rich in sugar should not be used excessively like chocolates, biscuits, potato chips, lollies, muesli bars, cakes and lollies.

You can certainly enhance your smile by taking proper care of your teeth, avoiding the foods that cause decay to the teeth, and ensuring that you are taking a calcium rich balanced diet. Moreover, when you eat the foods like meat and chicken; make sure that you brush off your teeth properly after meal, so that the left over particles do not cause damage and infection in your teeth.
